Construction Site Runoff Control

Construction site runoff control is the key to preventing sediment from earth-disturbing operations, as well as construction debris, from contaminating the streams. VWCC is developing an erosion and sediment control-training program based on Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)'s erosion sediment manual. Selected staff and faculty will be trained to recognize possible noncompliance scenarios.

VWCC relay upon qualified engineering firms to develop, erosion and sediment control plans. These qualified consulting firms that have been approved by the Virginia Community College System are contracted to develop the plans and acquire permits.
