Placement Testing
Placement tests are given in the Learning Technology Center. No
appointment is necessary in order to take a placement test.
COMPASS Placement Testing
All new students who are seeking a degree or
entering a program of study, students planning to receive
financial aid, or students entering the first semester of
mathematics or English courses (includes transfer students who do
not have credit in mathematics or English) must either take the
COMPASS assessment for placement in English and mathematics or
they must provide documentation for a waiver of this placement
test requirement. The COMPASS test is administered and scored on the
computer. For those students unable to take a computerized test,
the ASSET may be substituted, which is a paper and pencil exam.
For more information about COMPASS placement testing, visit the
Counseling and Academic Advising web site.
