Computer Labs

In addition to the Testing Center, Math Center, and Writing Center, the Learning Technology Center houses two computer labs. The main computer lab (B17/18) contains 30 workstations, and is open to all Virginia Western students -- except during those times when the lab has been reserved for testing or class instruction. In addition to providing access to the World Wide Web, the computers in the main lab have the following software available:

• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access)

• Choices 2005(career software)

• COMPASS/ESL (diagnostic and placement software)

• Maple (interactive software for advanced math)

• MEDS Learning System (software for nursing students)

• Minitab (statistical software)

Technology Associates are available during operating hours to provide assistance in using the computers and software.

The other computer lab (B11A) is restricted to student use for placement testing, distance learning testing, makeup testing, and foreign language practice. Contact the Learning Center staff for more information about these services.
