Databases:
All of these databases can be found under the "Databases" link from the Brown Library home page.

Periodicals:

  • Congressional Digest - This is a list of topics in Congressional Digest. Issues are kept in the periodicals area on the main floor.
  • Supreme Court Debates - This is a list of topics within Supreme Court Debates. Issues are kept in the periodicals area on the main floor.

Books:
Brown Library has collected a number of books from various series that focus on controversial topics. These books are located on the top floor.

  • At Issue - There are twenty five books in this series.
  • Contemporary Controversies - Topics include sports and food.
  • Exploring Science and Medical Discoveries - Topics in this series include vaccines, cloning, space exploration, and antibiotics.
  • Fact or Fiction? - Topics in this series include ghosts & poltergeists, haunted houses, mysterious monsters, life after death, and possessions & exorcisms. Ask your instructor first before using books in this series.
  • Opposing Viewpoints  - This is a list of books in the Opposing Viewpoints Series that was compiled before we got the online database. From the list you can go to a table of contents for each book. This list is no longer being updated but can still be used as a source of ideas.
  • Contemporary World Issues - There are thirty four books in this series. These books are good sources for statistics.
  • Library in a Book - There are nine books in this series. These books are good sources for statistics.
