This manual has
been prepared to help you answer some of the questions that may arise while you
are an adjunct faculty member. It is
very important that you take time to study the material in this resource. If you have any questions about this
information, do not hesitate to call either your dean or department head for
assistance. If you have any suggestions
about how this manual could be made more helpful, please be sure to share them
with my assistant, Lorry Conklin, or with me.
We are very
appreciative of your willingness to serve as a member of Virginia Western’s
adjunct faculty. When you have a chance
to meet some of your colleagues, you will quickly discover that you are a part
of an outstanding team. Assessment
studies at the college repeatedly show that the quality of our full-time and
adjunct faculty is one of the primary reasons why Virginia Western receives
high ratings from graduates, employers, and transfer institutions. The administration and staff at the college
are very aware that we would not be able to meet the needs of our students
without your support and service!
